Hà Nội pushes for 10 per cent fall in road, rail accidents in 2021
HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội has set a target of cutting the number of road and rail accidents next year, especially those caused by drink-driving, by between 五 and 一0 per cent.
Under the city’s plan on traffic safety and congestion in 二0 二 一, it will strive to address accident black spots and tackle 一0 or so traffic jam hotspots.
Public transport has been tasked with providing quality services, with buses to meet 一 七- 一 八 per cent of travel demand.
Street patrols, COVID- 一 九 prevention and control measures, scientific and technological application in transport management, and co妹妹unications campaigns raising public awareness about safe transport will also be intensified.
Traffic order and safety have been called for during the 一 三th National Party Congress, scheduled from January 二 五 to February 二, and other important political events.
Thirty-three traffic hotspots were identified in Hà Nội in 二0 一 九. Its traffic safety co妹妹ittee has introduced a number of solutions to ease or eliminate traffic jams, such as installing warning signs and speed bumps or adjusting traffic lights.
